Tank Tour of Jacques Littlefield's Tank Collection After years of trying to set up a tour of Jacques Littlefields private collection of tanks, our current Tour Coordinator Matthew Mintz, was able to arrange a tour on May 22nd, 2004. This was a tour that was open to our NorCal Chapter members only, and filled quickly (a benefit of being a member). Littlefield's private collection is located in Portola Valley CA, and after meeting in Woodside, we carpooled to the 500 acre ranch. Our tour guide was Michael Green, and he knew these vehicles quite well. Although the entire collection consists of 213 tanks and tracked vehicles, the four warehouses do not include them all, as many are still in the process of being restored, such as a WWII Panther we got to see in the restoration shop. This is only a small sampling of what we were able to look at. All the pictures have text describing the vehicle briefly, as I'm not versed in these ground-bound type of machines. And yes, many of these vehicles relate to aircraft, as they were built as anti-aircraft weapons. As always, if you have any additional information or corrections for these pictures, let me know. All photographs were taken by Roger Cain (NC 148). These photographs posted on 5-28-04 |
