41st Annual Reno National Championship Air Races 2004 A safe week during the Annual Air Races at Stead Field Nevada, was held through the weekend of Sept. 16-19. I only attended the races on Sunday and these pictures are from that day, which was very cold. John Penney in Rare Bear won the Unlimited Gold Race, after the lead plane, Dago Red, flown by Skip Holm cut a pylon, receiving a 16 second penalty. All the results of the racing can be found at National Championship Air Races. Some of our members that I ran across and visited with were John and Erline Goodman (NC 38), Nick and Betty Veronico (NC 262 & 385), Norm Jukes (NC 193), Rick Turner (NC 487), Earl Holmquist (NC 47), Bill Conwell (NC 331) and Taigh Ramey (NC 492) who was displaying John Ward's B-25 Mitchell "Old Glory". If you have any additional information or corrections for these pictures, let me know. There is text attached to all the photographs. All photographs were taken by Roger Cain (NC 148).
