Presidents Message for March 2013
We were glad to welcome author Craig Harwood to our Feb. 2 meeting on Quest for Flight, John J. Montgomery and the Dawn of Aviation in the West. His presentation added to our knowledge of our rich local aviation history, and there are still a few copies of his book available for sale at a special price to SAH members. Drop us an email if you'd like a copy, or see us at the registration table at AprilŐs meeting. Our April 13 meeting will feature Ray Allen, navigator of the B-17 "Rose of York" christened by Queen Elizabeth. We will be back at the Moffett Field Museum for this meeting, with lunch provided by our old favorite, Emergency BBQ.
SAH Meeting DVD Lending Program
Board member Byron May is now in charge of our lending program, and DVDs of quite a number of past meetings are available to borrow if you missed a meeting or would just like to see a presentation again. Please see Byron if you are interested, or you can contact him by phone or e-mail with your request.
Summer Newsletter Contributions
Our special 48-page summer newsletter is already in the works and our newsletter editor Betty Veronico would like your contributions, large or small, including photos. Writing and photo guidelines for submission can be found on our website: www.sfahistory.org/guidelines.htm . Each year we have great member participation, which is what makes the summer newsletter so interesting and sought-after. I look forward to your contributions.Tour Ideas Appreciated
We had a wonderful tour schedule in 2012, and we would like to continue offering tours of interest to our SAH members this year. If you have a tour idea to share, please let us know.
See you in April!
